Dr. Sommer understands that coping with a beloved pet’s cancer diagnosis can be very difficult. She strives to help her clients navigate their pet’s cancer journey with compassion and understanding while providing the best available care and treatment. Recommended treatment options are individualized based on the pet and their family’s goals and may include chemotherapy, surgery, radiation therapy, pain management, or palliative care. Dr. Sommer and her team will help you decide which treatment is best for your pet and family.
Dr. Sommer is experienced in all aspects of medical oncology with particular interest in lymphoma, osteosarcoma, and bladder cancer. She has specific expertise in bladder cancer given her clinical training and research at Purdue University College of Veterinary Medicine’s renowned Canine Bladder Cancer Clinic.
