Dr. Wiger grew up in Minnesota before her family moved to Phoenix, Arizona when she was in high school. Despite graduating from high school in Arizona, she still considers herself to be Minnesotan and can use her Minnesota accent to prove it! She took a roundabout way to get to veterinary medicine, starting first with a nursing degree before graduating from Northern Arizona University with a Bachelors of Biomedical Science and a minor in Chemistry. After which she moved to Glasgow, Scotland to pursue her degree in Veterinary Medicine. While she was there, she met her fiancée, Dr. Hughes, and together they got their four animals – Simba, Bjorn, Freyja, and Cinderella. As much as she enjoyed her time in Scotland, she’s happy to be back in the USA and the Midwest. Even though this isn’t Minnesota, it still feels like coming home to her.

In her spare time, she can be found working on the projects in the house she and Dr. Hughes just bought, working in their garden, or playing board games with family and friends.
