Dr. Rachel Hau received her undergraduate degree in Animal Science from UW-River Falls. She then graduated from the University of Wisconsin - Madison with her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine. While in veterinary school, she acquired an interest in emergency medicine. She was apart of the Student Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care Society as well as heavily involved in Veterinary Business Management Association.

Dr. Hau is a volunteer with the Operational Canine Medical Team of Wisconsin (OPK9 Med Team). This organization is specifically focused on training canine handlers, law enforcement, EMS, fire, and paramedics to treat working canines on the scene of injury and provide recommendation for care and transport.

In her free time Dr. Hau enjoys traveling, hiking, riding horses and anything that involves being outside.
