Outpatient CT Referral Form
This form must be completed by the primary care veterinarian and then we will contact the client to schedule their outpatient CT appointment with us. The health and safety of the patient is our primary concern. If we have any questions, a member of our team will be in touch.
This is for stable patients that can wait for an appointment. Unstable or urgent patients should admit through our Emergency department.
CT requires heavy sedation to facilitate quality imaging. Patients must be good candidates for heavy sedation. Due to this, we will ask the client to sign a CPR/DNR authorization.
CT is a diagnostic test. As such, the findings rarely stand on their own and must be interpreted in light of the entire clinical picture. For this reason, the client will not be provided directly with the report. It can be shared by the primary veterinarian's office after being viewed and interpreted. Routine reports will take 1-2 business days to return and be shared with the primary veterinarian.
Important Reminders
Please withhold food from your pet for 12 hours prior to their appointment. (A small
amount of water until the morning of his/her appointment.)
Your pet will undergo heavy sedation for the CT scan. We expect they will be able to return home with you by late afternoon.
A radiologist will provide a finalized report in 1-2 business days.
Your primary veterinarian will contact you to convey the results of the study and create a treatment plan tailored for you and your pet.
Someone from our medical team will reach out to you within 48 hours to confirm medications and discuss recommendations for your appointment.
