Emily Gavic
Emily earned her undergraduate and Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She completed her rotating internship in small animal medicine and surgery at WestVet Emergency and Specialty Center in Boise, ID, and her cardiology and emergency medicine internship at BluePearl Veterinary Partners Emergency and Referral Center in Southfield, MI.
Driven by her passion for cardiology, Emily moved to Saint Paul, MN to complete a three-year residency in comparative cardiology at the University of Minnesota. During her training, Emily developed a special interest in cardiac interventional procedures including patent ductus arteriosus device occlusion, transcatheter balloon valvuloplasty and pacemaker implantation for cardiac arrhythmias. She finds all areas of cardiology captivating from electrophysiology, echocardiography and breed-specific disease management.
Outside of work, Emily enjoys running with her beloved aussiedoodle Maverick, camping with her family and friends, mountain hiking trips, snorkeling in the ocean and traveling to new places. Her favorite foods are jimmy johns, pickles and red licorice.
