Karina Herrera
Dr. Karina Herrera grew up in the suburban Chicago area. She earned both her Bachelors in Animal Sciences and Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Wisconsin - Madison.
She has long been interested in surgery, and this passion further developed during veterinary medical school. During her 4th year of veterinary school, she was awarded the ACVS Surgery Proficiency Award. Additional professional interests include research and veterinary accessibility through breaking language barriers and representation. Dr. Herrera hopes to pursue advanced training in Small Animal Surgery upon completion of her internship.
In her free time, Dr. Herrera enjoys exercising, cooking, and spending time with her husband, stepdaughter, and chocolate labrador.
