Dr. Wirth is originally from Illinois but has called Wisconsin home since college—and has always been a devoted Packers fan. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Zoology with a minor in Environmental Studies in 2004, followed by her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in 2009, both from the University of Wisconsin–Madison.

She pursued advanced training through a rotating internship at Southern Arizona Veterinary Specialists, an oncology clinical trials internship at the University of Wisconsin–Madison Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital, and a residency in medical oncology at the University of Florida, which she completed in 2014.

Outside of veterinary medicine, Dr. Wirth leads a creative and fulfilling life with her husband, their two dogs, three cats, a bearded dragon, and a hedgehog. In her free time, she enjoys crafting, painting, writing, reading, shopping, and—most enthusiastically—anything involving coffee.
